I was inspired at the oustet of my career by the classic styles of Cartier Bresson and Elliott Erwitt, who used the aesthetics of black and white, set within a harmonious and geometric framework, and combined this with a humanist and often humorous sensitivity.
I have endeavoured, in my own way, to carry on this tradition. My pictures of the Ffestiniog railway were awarded the judge's prize by the David Hodge Memorial award organised by The Observer.
