Oscillation – architectural art installation

As part of the annual summer public art installation and cultural festival known as the “Voyage à Nantes”, I had the pleasure of being commissioned to photograph the Oscillation project, situated in the up and coming thriving area known as the “ Quartier de la Création”, or if you wish, the Creative Quarter.

This architectural experimental installation was designed by a team of young architects from Montpellier- AtelierVecteur. The wooden structure, with it’s interspersed open and closed forms, offers a wonderful play of light and shade and, as the project’s name implies, creates a real sensation of movement and wave-like rhythm within the confines of a rigid space. Conceived to accompany, or rather hide, the construction of a new building set behind it, this design acts as both a fence and a pathway, and achieves the architectural aims of blending practical functionality with artistic integrity.
